Apple may have made a few clangers in the past, with the most recent one angering a lot of die hard fans, but one?thing's?for sure: their products usually?center?around?that?person's?life due to the nature of the devices they bring to market.?
The?enthusiasm?for newer, shinier stuff from Apple also never seems to get old either, and on that note, enter Apple fan August Brandels who contacted us with a video he made (sort of)?chronologically showing the evolution of Apple and their products over the years; the segments are cut from various Apple commercials and promotional videos, and tied to a great soundtrack that also leaves you feeling pretty good for a Sunday morning!
So if you have around 4 minutes to spare, and want to see Apple as a fan would, check out the above video and drop a comment.
Thanks to Brandals for sending it our way, and oh, he was also featured on TechCrunch for it too. Not bad.

Wow what a great lunch
King County Green Tools staff Patti Southard and Kinney (missed the other name) made introductory remarks for Mr. Hayes. First they gave us some statistics and diversion rates for construction materials. Newest edition of the Construction Recycling Directory just came out. He suggests that builders use 2 bins on sites so the sorting is done immediately because it is very time consuming to sort it later. He also mentioned the 20/20 Refit Challenge. Rehabilitating older homes to become healthy, comfortable, energy efficient homes is a lot more sustainable than deconstructing a structure and building something new It?s all about keeping materials out of the waste stream.
Patti thanks the staff at Built Green for creating such a great model that others in the country look to. Collaboration is key. She says every day we are working on making this a beter planet it is like writing a love letter to the Earth. She says we are lucky to have the kind of leadership we have in our area ? with Denis Hayes, the founder of Earth Day, having joined our community. She shared her own memories of how Earth Day is a holiday not for religion or anything else, but for doing something for others and the plant.
Denis Hayes
Funny guy! Seems to be speaking extemporaneously. He said normally he gives a rousing motivational speech about becoming more green. But he doesn?t have to do that here, since everyone in the room is involved in the green building industry. He talked about how the Bullitt Foundation stat=started out in a hayloft, and since joining the organization the Board agreed to the construction of a green building. The piece of property the foundation owned called for something larger than an office for seven people, and now they have a 52,000 sq ft mixed use building. Billed as ?The Greenest Building in the World? He said there are 26 geothermal wells that are 400 feet deep. ALL of the energy that will be used in this building will be generated by the building. Net Zero is not accomplished very often. Hayes talked about trying to meet the requirements of the Living Building Challenge. He spoke about sourcing materials for the building, finding contractors who would
Bullitt Center ? Hard costs up through TI: 17% more expensive than regular Class A office space and found they can?t rent it for any more than regular Class A office space. If you are a tenant in their building and meet ll of your energy goals, you have no energy costs, it?s free. Society needs to start placing real value on things that endure. These major investments count for something. He talked a lot oabout the features that went into this new building. I missed the last tour a couple weeks ago! So I sent an email to find out when the next tour will be. Defnitely have to get it on it.
If I had to do it gain knwoing what I know now and this will sound ridiculous ? this is the first time I have worked on a building, but it has given me a lot of humility. So he deerred t a lot of te experts, vendors, and contractors, for elements and aesthetics that if he woudl have won on if he had stuck to his guns. And he would hold out to have it his way next time.

NOIDA: Villagers of Noida seem unrelenting a day after the Supreme Court issued a notice to UP government over the petition of 94 Noida farmers from Nithari, Morna and Chaura villages accusing the Authority of misusing its powers by acquiring land in 1976 and letting it lie idle for 34 years. The farmers want denotification of the land that was allotted to Wave Infratech in March last year for the ambitious City Center project.
Noida Authority refused to comment on the implication of the order before it receives a copy of the SC notice even as work on the site is currently on. Sources said that while the Authority will submit a ?suitable reply to the court once it receives the copy of the notice. The notice by itself does not imply that work at the City Center site needs to be halted.?
?We can comment on the matter only after we deliberate on the matter with our legal officers. However, the state has never been against the farmers and anyone who has a problem can approach the Authority for redressal,? Authority officials said. The Authority also refused to comment on why the 152 acre plot was kept idle for 34 years.
Through a written statement, the executive director of Wave Infratech, R K Jain, said, ?Wave Infratech acquired the 152 acre of land in 2011 through fair competitive bidding from Noida authorities by outbidding other real estate developers with the winning bid of Rs 6,500 crore. We never purchased this land from the farmers directly, so the said issue is between the farmers and the state government.?
?The Authority did not give us a fair hearing at the time of acquiring our land. We feel cheated and we have told the court we must be given our land back,? said Dinesh Sharma of Nithari village.
Meanwhile, another group of greater Noida farmers is now protesting against another Wave Infratech project, the ?Wave Hi-tech city? that falls partly in Greater Noida and partly in Ghaziabad. These farmers are demanding compensation at par with Noida Extension villagers and have called for a mahapanchayat on Wednesday in Dujana village.

The University of?California has agreed to pay about $1 million to settle a lawsuit filed by UC-Davis students who were pepper-sprayed by campus police during an Occupy-style protest on campus last November, according to media reports.
The settlement also calls for a personal written apology from Chancellor Linda Katehi to each person hit with the spray, according to The Sacramento Bee. ?
UC and plaintiffs represented by the American Civil Liberties Union filed the preliminary settlement in federal court in Sacramento on Wednesday, The Associated Press reported.
Police in riot gear pepper-sprayed University of California Davis students, as the young protesters sat arms linked, making no moves. NBC's Kristen Dahlgren reports.
Under the agreement, which must be approved by a federal judge, the university will pay $30,000 to each of 21 students and former students named in the complaint and an additional $250,000 for their attorneys to split. ?
The settlement also calls for the UC to set aside $100,000 to pay other individuals who can prove they were arrested or pepper-sprayed during the Nov. 18, 2011, incident.
